Judges provide constructive feedback and evaluate each team based on criteria such as problem-solving approach, analytical rigor, feasibility of solutions, presentation skills, and teamwork. Scores are tallied to determine the finalists and eventual winners of the competition. The competition culminates in an awards ceremony where top-performing teams are recognized for their achievements.
Each team will make a short presentation to a panel of judges comprising industry professionals the afternoon of February 23rd. Presentations typically include an overview of the case, a thorough analysis of the issues, and a detailed implementation plan for the proposed solutions. Following each presentation, the judging panel engages in a question-and-answer session with the team, probing deeper into their analysis, methodologies, and recommendations.
Participating teams are provided with a detailed case study highlighting a current and complex issue in industrial and labour relations. Teams analyze the case, identify key problems, and develop strategic solutions overnight. HR and IR professionals and senior students will lead workshops during the 24 hour period covering topics relevant to the case.
Who can register?
Registration is open to ALL college and undergraduate university students, regardless of program enrollment or experience.
Team size
Each team will have a maximum of 4 people. Participants can register individually and be matched with a team, or in groups of up to 4. Please note that groups of 2-3 may be paired with other individuals or smaller groups.
What do I need to bring?
Come with a device that can be used to make a presentation, a notebook and pens. We suggest you bring a water bottle and some snacks, although we will provide breakfast and lunch on Sunday.
Schedule of events
